Resumen
Sobre mí
Hello!
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I've always wanted to find a city that makes me feel I'm home. With hotels or Airbnb, emersion in the local culture is essentially turned off each night when you return. It's like going on vacation only to not be on vacation for a third of the trip.
But with Couchsurfing, I get to meet amazing people! I get to feel what it's like if I actually lived there.

Movies is a tough one and seem to cycle through my top five. Obligatory mention of Shawshank Redemption... but others that come to mind are The Truman Show, Big Fish, Wish I Was Here, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I don't really know why I admire Walter Mitty so much but something about that production is really personal. I seem to have a pattern of liking movies with a theme of wanderlust or self-evolution.
When it comes to music, I listen to pretty much everything but tend to lean toward musical theater. I've played piano for quite some time and find inspiration in songs that tell stories and are more musically engaging. Rock and pop certainly have their places and I like them as much as the next guy, but there's nothing like a key change to gently remind the listener the composer's just on a different level.

There used to be a yearly event called WIMP Gives that I always looked forward to partaking in. WIMP Gives was a charity hackathon with a motivation of building websites for nonprofits in a single day for free. It was an amazing event filled with chaotic coding and team building. It's hard to describe the atmosphere of being in a giant room of 100 other people all working under extreme pressure to make something great for their selected charity with a team they've never met—all in the course of 10 hours. It's pretty much guaranteed you'll have a stress headache the entire day... but once your team starts moving, it's a great thrill.
Saying it on here makes the whole thing sound super nerdy—which I suppose it is—but at the end of the day, it's a hell of a puzzle to solve. Can't wait for the next one!
