Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like many people, I orginally signed up to CS as it seemed like a cheap way to explore the world. I very quickly learned that there's so many more reasons to travel in this manner.

Staying with people that have experience of a place means having an instant insight in to the culture, history and geography of the area. I have benefitted massively both from people that have grown up in the town/city/country, and from those that have moved there from other places. Hanging out with locals and their friends has led to unexpected nights out, adventures and parties in places I would have not had a chance of enjoying were I staying in hostels/hotels.

Hosting-wise, I've only had a few experiences, but have really enjoyed showing people around Liverpool, taking them to gigs, cooking for them, being cooked for by them and chatting.
