About Me

Hi! I’m Nathalia (@nathaliakleber on my insta) and excited to start this journey of meeting people and places in a more human, meaningful way.

I worked for three years in the medical industry before pressing pause to pursue a dream: doing an internship in France. Right now, I’m living in Marseille and doing an academic internship as part of my Pharmacy and Biochemistry studies at university in Brazil.

I absolutely love talking about everything and anything! Conversations are my favorite way to connect, and spending time with people from different walks of life truly brings me joy. I especially enjoy sharing meals — there's something magical about gathering around food. I love cooking for others; it’s my way of saying “you’re welcome” without words.

Though I’m calm and organized by nature, I never say no to spontaneous adventures or the chance to meet new people and explore new places. Right now, I’m trying to collect stories from around the world — one snapshot at a time with my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 (7.2 MP). It’s not a fancy camera, but I’ve had it since I was 11, and it’s been my loyal little companion ever since. There's a lot of heart behind every photo I take with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don’t just want to visit new places I want to live them. To me, being just a tourist feels a bit... dull. What really excites me is the heartbeat of a home, the everyday rhythm of people’s lives.

Maybe it's just my curiosity talking (or maybe you feel this too?), but I often catch myself walking past houses and wondering what stories are unfolding inside. How are the forks arranged in the drawer? Which little objects hold the most meaning? What books are half-read on the nightstand? I love the idea of getting a glimpse into someone’s world their own small universe, full of quirks and quiet details. There’s something so beautiful about that intimacy, about understanding how someone shapes their space around who they are.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two years volunteering with AIESEC a global youth-led organization that promotes cross-cultural exchange and leadership through international volunteer projects. And honestly, I think it changed the course of my life.

I used to be a quiet and fearful person, someone who was hesitant to speak up or step into the unknown. But through AIESEC, I found myself in situations far outside my comfort zone traveling to unfamiliar places, and more importantly, welcoming people from all over the world to Brazil and helping them begin their own volunteering journeys.

It opened my eyes in ways I never expected. Meeting people from different cultures and witnessing how they saw the world reshaped how I saw the world. It made me more sensitive to the beauty in everyday life, more curious about the stories people carry, and more eager to share and live the world — not just observe it from a distance.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a rather unusual passion one that totally makes sense to me (and explains why my friends jokingly call me "Wednesday"). I absolutely love cemeterial art and mausoleums. I truly believe that cemeteries are one of the most powerful ways to understand the living fabric of a city to see what it was built upon, who was loved, and how memory takes shape.

They are places filled with history and emotion, where we can soften our relationship with death something inevitable, yet often pushed aside. Sometimes, I think we need that quiet reminder that we’re finite. I know quite a bit about cemeteries and their stories, so if you’re curious, I’d be thrilled to share.

On a completely different note, I’m also deeply passionate about dermocosmetics. I can talk for hours about dermatological conditions and the active ingredients that make up cosmetic formulas. It's a world I truly love.

I also worked for three years in health regulation and know a lot about medical and sanitary legislation — though I have to admit, laws aren’t the most exciting thing to talk about! But if you’re curious, I’m always happy to explain.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm someone who genuinely loves to help whether it's moving furniture, fixing things around the house, or lending a hand with anything else, I'm more than happy to jump in! I also love cooking, especially for a bunch of people, just like my grandma used to. And Brazilian cuisine (which, in my humble opinion, is the best in the world!) is one of my favorite ways to bring people together.

I'm a very vibrant person, full of laughter, and I truly enjoy sharing joyful moments with others. Making connections, laughing over shared meals, and exchanging stories that's what I live for.
