Overview
About Me
I’ve been doing overseas volunteering a few months a year for the past few years and decided I preferred it to my career. So I left my job of 14 years to volunteer and have been traveling around the world since January 2018. I’ve volunteered in refugee camps, building schools in Nepal, with local wildlife in Australia, and doing some natural construction to name a few. I love it and have no plan on stopping anytime soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the big benefits of volunteering is that I meet normal local people and really get to know them. I think Couchsurfing would be the same idea. I enjoy learning about how people really live their lives. And yeah since I work for free for a living now, saving money is pretty important.
Interests
I love anything outdoor. Hiking is one of my favorite activities. I also like water sports like snorkeling, boating, wake boarding etc. I used to scuba dive all the time but had an accident and haven’t gone in years. I’m still thinking of picking it back up again.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m broad in my music taste. I enjoy 90’s Rap, classic rock, indie, alternative, classical, old country, dub step. Pretty much anything but current pop. I love movies and again I’m pretty all over the place. I love independent films but still enjoy a good Hollywood, popcorn eating Blockbuster. I like horror, documentaries, comedies and action. Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite author.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Help build schools destroyed in the Nepal earthquake.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a good work ethic and would be happy to help out with anything. I like building and working with my hands but I’m happy to do whatever is needed.
I’m not a chef but I like to help chop, stir etc. and will always be happy to clean up.
I’m friendly and enjoy having a good chat but also don’t mind being by myself and reading.
