I'm a fun-loving student from the United States who loves to travel. I have a deep respect for the planet we live on, and experiencing its seemingly unending beauty is what I live for. My favorite part about traveling is the people I've met and their experiences and views they've shared with me.

I grew up during the time when you still needed to memorize your best friends' numbers in order to phone them on your landlines phone.
I grew up playing video games from Mario 64 and Lego racer to Halo: combat evolved and minecraft!
However, despite being a total nerd, I am also a very social, outdoor-loving guy!

My time spent on computers caused me to have an affinity toward them, and therefore paved the way for me to study computer science in college.
I wouldn't say that I am an experienced traveler, but I've done enough to know how to do it efficiently (and not efficiently).

My absolute favourite part about traveling is hearing how the world is from other people who see it differently. Traveling has caused me to see the world much differently, and I love getting to see the similarities and differences in the experiences we all have.

I suppose you could say my goal in traveling is to broaden my horizon both mentally (and literally) and see the world and the people in it for their true beauty untarnished by assumptions and biases and in the process broaden other's horizons.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting the people who are from the places I'm visiting, and couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do that.

Interests

I love to create.
Whether it's a world in a video game, a photo that others can enjoy, a program that accomplished something, or an experience I get by meeting new people.
Traveling is my newest passion, and although I don't really have the money to do it all the time, I do it anyway. I've been to Europe twice in the past two years, and I absolutely love it. I would not trade the experiences I've had for the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know it happens all the time around the world, but the total solar eclipse 2017 in Oregon, USA was one of the most absolutely stunning, phantasmogoric, things I've ever seen. I took a photo (on my instagram: @brandt_new_), but it doesn't do it justice
