About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wake up every morning with an invigorating drive to get shit done because each day is precious!

ABOUT ME

I am a genuine, friendly, caring, easy-going, good-natured, curious person. I enjoy small gatherings of people and I love cooking for dinner parties. I love meeting new people, especially in unfamiliar settings. I am quirky and over the top, a bit of a romantic, and very sentimental at times. I am down for spur of the moment travel, long trips with not enough preparation that generally end up with a very long drive, not as long a stay as we would all like, but a collection of amazing memories that made the trip worth it. I am a bit of a beer and wine snob and a great person to sit down with and talk to over a few beers sitting around a fire or out at a bar. I tend to drink a lot of tea and I love sitting down for a cuppa with anyone.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is smaller than you think it is. We are all connected in strange and surprising ways that we generally find out too late. It is always best to treat others with the same amount of respect and courtesy that you would wish to be treated with. I believe in innate human kindness and hospitality, the kind that has been shown by all of us to complete strangers at some point or another in our lives and that we all cherish deep down in our hearts and treasured memories and should be willing to pass on to those complete strangers we ourselves meet. On a complete side note, I believe in a deep connection between human beings and nature, and I love nothing more than to be out in the woods, or on a lake, or in a garden. Anything where I can feel the dirt beneath my toes, smell the plants and trees, feel the sun beating down on my back.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the most awesome moments I have lived have to do with climbing to the top of large hills and mountains. My brother and I once decided at midday to set off into the Atacama desert to scale a large sandy hill in the distance. We ended up walking 15km across the scorching ground, and then trudging up the large sandy hill, only to realize that it was sunset and we were too far away from the house to get back before dark. His host mother was not pleased to say the least...

The first time I caught a legal muskellunge (predatory fish that inhabits Wisconsin lakes) that was a little over a meter long and I held it up in the boat and I could feel the blood pulsing in its body and then putting it back in the water and holding onto it until it slowly swam away into the murk.
