About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get out of the city, enjoy new surroundings, especially ones featuring beautiful natural surroundings, and meet nice people.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't have a philosophy as such, but empathy is very important to me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None really, have stayed with someone and hosted another via this website, but I knew both people first.
Interests
I am a very political person and like to engage with issues that affect marginalized populations. Recently I've been learning a lot about immigration, immigration detention, asylum and refugee issues through some volunteer work; in the past I worked with a collective that sent free books to people in prison and got to know about work that activists do on that front. I love languages; I hope that one day I can get this rocky Mandarin to a higher, more proficient level. It's not all serious social issues and East Asian languages, though, I spend a fair amount of time binge-watching tv series and reading comedy nonsense online (the-toast, random comedian twitter feeds), snacking, drinking coffee, beer, wine, and whiskey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I mentioned the books to prisoners project I was involved in; reading letters from people in prison can be amazing. Taiwan's Taroko Gorge is also one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
What I Can Share with Hosts
The pleasure of my company....?(I hope you'll think) If you want to host a friendly person who's happy to make coffee and conversation in the morning, and do something during my stay if you have time, that's what I have to offer.
