Overview
About Me
My name is Natalie and I am a Philosophy graduate from Sorbonne university. Learning languages counts as a hobby to me and it is my favorite, obviating the one of hanging out with friends... and new friends (especially of different cultures as mine, for I find it always a very enriching experience), when I have time to spare (i.e. during summer vacations).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that travel occurs, not within the walls of a comfortable hotel, but outside, in the city or town, where people and local places live and interact. So knowing that it is possible, not only to save the economic resources for discovery rather than to waste them in accommodation but also to have the guarantee of meeting someone who lives where I vacation, someone who can show me what is worth seeing and allowing me to do so in good company, cannot but leave me wondering why I hadn't signed up before!
Music, Movies, and Books
I am shamelessly a kid in my heart, so apart from Inception and a few other normal films, Disney holds my utmost favorites of all times.
As for books: "Pride and Prejudice" used to be favorite one, however, it has been definitely dethroned by the insane saga by Carlos Ruiz Zafón: "El cementerio de los libros olvidados".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
ONE amazing thing I've done? What a difficult choice! Maybe would it be pertinent to mention that one, which I believe is at the roots of my being at ease at, and attached to, solo-traveling... Even if it is not really something I, myself, accomplished (but I certainly remember having a hard time getting used to it): I took a plane for the first time without my parents (trusted to the flight attendant along with other small children), to pass vacations with my grandparents, when I was only 4 years old! I consider it amazing, even if I can't really take credit for it ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach or help practice the languages I know (I can even teach German grammar, even if communication itself is still hard for me), or even some aspects of basic symbolic logic which I find actually quite fun xD
I would love to learn anything my host is willing to teach me (ANYTHING: sports, games, languages, cooking, painting... I love discovering new things) :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my smile and laughs and am expecting to get some in return too ;)
