CURRENT MISSION
take over the world.
ABOUT ME
'Interested' is a good word for describing me, since I am interested in almost everything and I love to learn new things, which is probably also the reason why I'm studying so many things... I get along well with different kinds of people and enjoy conversations.
PHILOSOPHY
Have you ever thought about becoming a duck?
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I live in a dorm and can't really host (unless it's really urgent), but I'm always ready to have a cup of coffee or tea and introduce the city to other couchsurfers. I am also going to surf actively.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Beginner: couple of cs-meetings and two surfs :) So far, it has been great. Looking forward to new cs-experiences.
Interessen
I try to divide my time reasonably between theory and practise. On one hand, I am your typical thinker - very much into thinking big and wide and having hour-long discussions. On the other, I am very practical, and like doing things with my own hands, getting something done, enjoying the little things in life. My interests vary from art, music, handicrafts, gardening, cooking and baking to philosophy, religion, politics, environmental questions.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I can't really make any top-something lists, but some good artists and bands I've been listening lately: Thirteen senses, Yann Tiersen, Eric Satie, Julia Kent, Imogen Heap, Spinvis, Che Sudaka, Gogol Bordello, Seeed, Peter Fox, Philipp Poisel - and Kraftwerk, of course.
I read a lot, and it is hard to name all great reading experiences I've had... I love poetry, and sometimes academic text can have at least as profound effect on me as novells. Without further categorization, some of my favourite authors include Philip Pullman, Fedor Dostoyevski, Antti Tuuri, Zygmunt Bauman, Manuel Castells, Elke Heidenreich, Rainer Maria Rilke, Edith Södergran, Emily Dickinson, Patrick Süskind, and a bunch of others.
Waltz with Bashir is a good movie... hmm, I'll list more when I come up with some.
Edit. Aaltra is definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen. Also, Roy Andersson's Du Levande (You, the Living) is really good. Pan's Labyrinth. Wind That Shakes The Barley. Memento. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Stalker.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
There are many moments I could call amazing, such as seeing my nieces and nephews for the first time, or skiing alone in Lapland while sun sets, or climbing down the wall of an old limestone quarry. Or participating the international pillowfight day in Berlin :) That was good stress relief, and a great flashmob. I also once sang a lullaby to a newborn calf while feeding it - I was some 8 years old back then, so that probably explains a lot ;) The song was Edelweiss btw.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I am very much interested in different languages and I like to learn as well as teach languages. I also know how to bake pulla, a Finnish sweet pastry, and some other desserts. Good conversations on philosophy, politics, psychology... are the air I breathe.
