About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy my job, do a bunch of flying, and make some music.

ABOUT ME

I'm a fairly laid-back, middle-ground type person. Generally quiet unless given something good to talk about (quality over quantity). My train of thought derails easily. I'm more of an active person... I'd prefer running a trail and jumping off the waterfall at the end or playing some sort of racquet-wielding sport or building something awesome out of wood and screws to sipping coffee and discussing life.

Some other traits:
-often cynical
-bit of a dork
-practical joker
-people watcher
-5 drinks = delightfulness
-very handy person to have around

PHILOSOPHY

I have lots of theories floating around upstairs...I'm a live and let live kind of guy...I treat others as I would like to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is kind of pending as I've recently moved and am settling in. I've had friends where I've visited, mostly...so I haven't surfed much besides an overnight layover or two. If anybody is passing through on their way to somewhere worth going, plenty of room available here!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some great people in NYC and experienced yoga for the first time. A couple layovers in HK have provided a home-cooked breakfast and the opportunity to be completely lost amongst the all the skyscrapers. I've also met some folks and made friends in Guilin, China. We've gone out for coffee/snacks, dinner, KTV, disco, badminton, hiking, etc... great fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

Novels? Hmm...Ayn Rand. I like reading handyman magazines and books about cools facts that I won't remember. I made a Breaking Benjamin station on Pandora, and it rarely lets me down, but I like lots of stuff. I don't want to get started on movies...maybe that can be a conversation piece.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done:
-Lived in the back of a truck for a summer in CO (by choice).
-Sat in the hole between the Kissing Camels in Garden of the Gods in Colorado.
-Rock climbed in southern Florida!
-Chased a shark.
-Ate cow's stomach. (and now cow's tongue, too, thanks to Wenjie)

Seen:
-Karst Mountains of Guilin.
-Tiger Leaping Gorge during peak flooding season! Holy crap!
-A butterfly in the wrong place at the wrong time (business end of a shot gun shooting at skeet).
-A Minute Man rocket motor firing.
-A baby snake bite a worm.
-Freedom.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn:
-Eastern languages
-Technical junk! (engineering-ish)
-Random cool facts (I don't know any trivia...really...playing games like Trivial Pursuit is useless for me. I really feel like I've accomplished something when I know an answer)

Teach:
-Technical junk.
-Ropes!
-Math.
