Overview
About Me
Want to unlearn the bad things and learn the good things through travel and conversations.
Left my well paying job after 18 years in corporate to travel and explore. Have travelled for work a decent bit but every new place made me want to come back again as a traveler and not as working professional, so starting now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Have mostly travelled for work, living in arrangements made by office, not getting much chance to interact with people outside work. I believe Couchsurfing is the best way to change that.

Music, Movies, and Books
Any music that makes me groove, EDM, trance, house, pop, Bollywood or Sufi.
After spending all my teens and twenties watching serious dark movies, now all I want is to watch wholesome heartwarming slice of life movies (no matter how “cringe”) and anime.
Anything but “self help” books. Mystical realism of Murakami, existential dread of Camus, bureaucratic nightmares of Kafka, human’s internal conflicts by Dostoyevsky, conflict journalism of Joe Sacco, or political literature of Michel Parenti/Ilan Pappe/Ghasan Kanafani.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I will tell a couple, they both might not be amazing but are kind of cool.
My very first high altitude trek was Everest Base Camp. Since then have done numerous 4K+ meter treks and hikes. Tried a failed a 6k+ trek due to HAPE. Was in Penang just for one night and managed to hike to top of Penang Hill.
Started running last year, did my first half marathon (self managed, not an event) in August and by the end of the year managed to run 5 (all self managed). Want to be able to complete a full marathon by end of this year. I would want to run in an event too but find it too crowded and overwhelming so prefer running by myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My travel experiences within India and abroad. My experience in corporate world. My love for nature, new places, new culture and new cuisine. My limited but effective cooking. My skills in performing household chores (cleaning, washing, dusting). And if asked for, my social, cultural, political opinions ( though never presented unsolicitedly).
