I grew up in Ohio and served in the US Army for 9 1/2 years. A few years ago I decided to leave the military and moved to Florida . Now I work in the energy industry and split time between Florida and Canada. I do my best to enjoy the journey and the wonderful people around me.

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love to travel and I love to meet people. Some of my very best travel experiences have been because of complete strangers I've met along the way, so Couchsurfing helps me meet people and do the same for others when they're in my neck of the woods.

Pretty much everything -- except for rye bread. I hate rye bread. I just can't get into it.

My two favorite movies are Jaws and Singin' in the Rain. My favorite bands are Foo Fighters and The Black Keys...but nobody sounds better than Frank Sinatra.

I recently read a book called The River of Doubt, which is a story about Theodore Roosevelt and a yearlong expedition he took through the Amazon to map and explore an uncharted river. The story was incredible and I couldn't put it down. Don't read it unless you're prepared to drop everything and go on an adventure immediately.

I went cage diving with Great White Sharks in South Africa. Being in the water with those things was unreal and definitely one of the most amazing things I've ever done.
