About Me

Hello! I am a musician and programmer, and love to create. I sing and write songs in the band Burner Courage:

and I also make electronic music in my solo project called The Wave Collector:

I love meeting new people and exploring. I especially like level-headed creative people and artists with interesting ideas! I also enjoy kind people and try to be kind to those I meet.

I love the French language and French culture and have been studying French intensely for the last 3.5 years. I'm always looking for more opportunities to speak French and will usually choose French over English when possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm about to do some traveling, and I really want to see some of the places I travel to from a new perspective. I'd love to meet some people who actually live in that place and get a feel for what it's actually like to be a local there. I am a very clean and considerate guest, making sure to clean up after myself and help out in whatever ways I can. I generally have an easy time sleeping in most situations and try to give hosts space when they need it.

When I have a better place to host guests, I plan to invite guests to stay with me on Couchsurfing. For the moment, however, I'll just be looking for hosts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once one of the top 3 fencers under the age of 17 in the United States in Men's Epee. I had many close, riveting bouts and practiced constantly. I met lots of fascinating, sometimes weird people, and experienced a really interesting competitive side of many people. I eventually quit, but I'll always remember it fondly. I still fence from time to time, but have since retired from that level of competition.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really interested in LED projects recently and have been doing lots of microcontroller programming. Always love nerding out about that! I'm also an avid musicmaker and I'm happy to play a song for anyone who wants to hear. I am decent at Guitar and I'm happy to share my knowledge.

I am a scratch DJ which is a bit of a dying artform, but I love it and am always interested in scratching with other turntablists I meet in my travels!

I speak English natively and I've been studying French for a good while. I'm happy to help anyone who wants to improve their English and I always welcome help with my French!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be happy to share my music, conversations, and stories with hosts! I'm also happy to cook meals. I am not a master chef, but can whip up a good meal. I'm happy to contribute to dishes, make my bed, and help with any chores hosts might need help with while I'm staying with them.

I tend to be very self-sufficient and am generally a very easy guest to host. I don't require a lot and am respectful of hosts and their space.
