To visit every country in the world before I die. Though difficult in this day and age where the people with power like conflict, it is still an achievable dream.

ABOUT ME

I am very personable and like to have deep conversations with people on a large variety of subjects. These include history, science, theology, philosophy and so on. I like to take life as it comes and don't dwell too much on the future or the past. I'm very easy going and just want to see the world.

PHILOSOPHY

There is an old saying that states "A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships were built for." I feel that way about my life. Though I feel safe and comfortable at home, it is through my travels and interactions with people from around this world that I learn and grow the most. I try to carry that philosophy with me whether I am hiking through the African bush or having an 11 course business meal with colleagues and customers in Singapore.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience with couchsurfing was in Egypt in 2003. I met some of the most wonderful people and are still good friends with them. They opened their homes and experiences to a total stranger from a different country and culture. I realized then that this was something that I wanted to continue to do for the rest of my life.

My interests are many. My first passion is to travel. If I could throw on a backpack and travel the world for the rest of my life, I would do it. After that, I enjoy reading all sorts of books across various genres, and investing in stock options.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The most amazing, but terrifying, thing I have done is sleep in a tent about 10 meters away from a pride of lions in the Amboseli National Park in Kenya. We had already set up our camp, when we realized that about 10 lions had come up to a watering hole near our campsite to drink and spend the night. It was already too late at night to pack up and leave, and so we built a large fire near our tent and crept inside. All night long, I could hear the lions just a few meters away. It was scary, yet thrilling, for the entire evening.
