I hate tourist traps. When I travel I want to experience a city/country/region like it should be experienced and in my mind the best way to do that is to meet local people and go where they go, eat where they eat, and drink where they drink. I think Couchsurfing is the best way to achieve that short of having a massive network of friends all over the world.
