ABOUT ME

We are brother and sister. And work or travel often keeps either one of us away. Norma is away working in the Northern Territory & is only here occasionally.

Ben:
Have lived and worked on farm all my life.Like the rural life.Love to travel on one of my motorycles.Travelled by motorcycle in Australia,New Zealand,US(Missouri)down to Mexico and all the way to Ushuaia in Argentina.
Also enjoy bush walking and canoeing.

Norma.
I grew up in the bush & have a love of the great outdoors, though I don't mind visiting cities - especially visiting & studying the history of old buildings etc.
I have travelled extensively around Australia, combining work & travel.
I work as a public health nurse/RAN in East Arnhem South, Northern Territory providing health care for the aboriginal people who live in these areas. I have also travelled & worked in the Tiwis & Central Australia in the Northern Territory, Australia.
I love the desert & the beautiful stark scenery & have many friends among the aboriginal people.
A few years ago I went on a trek with camels through the Simpson Desert walking almost 300klms in 23 days.
I have travelled in Egypt, Tanzania & in Britain on a hired motorcycle & have just returned from a dogsledding trip in Sweden & a cruise in Norway. I now want to see more of Europe.
After that I would like to travel in South America & possibly do some volunteer work.

PHILOSOPHY

To experience as many cultures as possible while travelling the world and couch surf hosting.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

*Give advice on travelling in Australia. Especially the outback areas in the Centre & Top End.
*Provide a couch for travellers whenever possible.
*Finding a couch when overseas.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Norma:Great. Last year I hired a small bike in Britain & toured some of the out of the way places there. Couchsurfing ocasionally as I went.
I have couchsurfed in both Britain and Egypt. I have met many wonderful people. It is a fantastic way to meet local people and experience their cultures.

Ben;I have had the pleasure of hosting 3 surfers,great to have them.I have couchsurfed in Canada & US.

Interesses

Ben:Motorycling,canoeing bush walking and meeting and visiting people from all over the world.

Norma:
I love all animals.
I enjoy working in remote areas & helping those who are less fortunate. I have learnt a lot from the different Aboriginal cultures & hope to be able to interact & learn from people of different cultures overseas.
I am a motorcyclist.
I also own a Isuzu truck with a motorhome.

NORMA;I enjoy meeting all kinds. Everbody has something to give.
I enjoy attempting to learn some of the many Aboriginal languages in Australia and seeing the joy (& sometimes amusement) on the faces of my teachers when I finally "?master" some basic phrases.
