My name is Neil (but you probably already figured that out!). I graduated with a degree in Environmental Studies and Economics. I love being outdoors/natural beauty, meeting/talking to people, animals, and anything that can make me laugh -- it's good for the soul!

About 2.5 years ago, I almost lost my life in a motorcycle accident :/ To be completely honest I look at it as a blessing and a curse because not only am I stoked about just being alive, I'm living my life 134123x better than before my accident. I got a road bike, mountain bike, snowboarded, surfed, and even backpacked AFTER my accident. Life's worth living!

I backpacked South America right after I graduated and I think that's when i realized everything that I've learned in school didn't really prepare for the right kind of "success". You can be rich with money but poor if you don't have great experiences. That's when I realized that life is about: good relationships, good food, and good times. And to just be a good person. I think it should be necessary for everyone to travel -- it removes the negative buildup of assumptions that we all carry in our brains. Talk to people, learn, laugh, and just live.

1) I love meeting people and locals, so what better way to do that? 2) my house in college actually hosted surfers a number of times and it was nothing but a good experience! 3) I love learning new cultures and their way of living

And last but not least as mentioned before, I sold everything to go on this journey before I move to San Francisco so it would seriously save me the stress of counting every singe penny because I'm on a tight budget

I would love to learn the local dishes and customs of anywhere I go, or go-to spots that only the locals really know about. I don't like going to the touristy spots because I want to feel like I'm home no matter where I go. I would also like to learn basic sayings, hand gestures, or even traditions that kind of go without saying. For example, how to properly greet someone or eat a certain dish.
