My name is Nele and I‘m 19 years old. Right now I‘m in the middle of my adventure living a year abroad. I am an AuPair in Boston and originally from Germany. I came to the United States to get to know a new country, to meet new people and learn as much as possible about another culture. During my year I tried and will try to see as much as possible of the States. And while I want to see as many places as possible I want to meet as many people as possible, especially locals who know the city and the area and can tell stuff about it.

I‘m a really openminded person who laughs a lot and likes to spent good times with new people I meet on my way and who become friends.

When I travel to new places I want to get the real experience and the best way to get that is spending as much time as possible with locals. So I think couchsurfing offers me the possibility to get to know the real spirit of a new city and not only the tourist side.

An amazing and new experience was definitely leaving my homecountry and family and friends to come to the USA and live here for a year with a new family. But now I can tell it was one of my best decisions so far because I’m blessed to get to know so many amazing people who became friends during my journey and I got the opportunity to feel home at more than one place.
