About Me
Hi there, beautiful people!
My name is Nele and I'm really looking forward to meeting you, either as a guest or a host.
I was born and raised in Berlin, a multicultural city with a million possibilities but I always knew that I want to leave and see the world. That I need to be free and discover all the various facettes of life. Since I had the chance to do so in the end of 2021, that's pretty much what I was doing for the last three years - travelling around, getting to know myself and trying to find my place in that world.
Life gave me the beautiful gift to spend two years in Italy, to live a wonderful love story with a very special person and to live life to the fullest.
After all, I decided to follow my inner voice and big dream to study medicine which is why I'm now back to Germany.
Whenever I can, I'm happy to continue discovering new parts of our world and new facettes of life :)
During my journey, I'm experiencing a lot of adventures and enjoy meeting new people that open my mind, change my perception or inspire me by their unique way of living. To me, life is a huge gift which I try to be thankful for every single day. I love to see things from a different point of view, leave my comfort zone, overcome challenges and I'm always seeking for new experiences. I feel strongly connected to nature - it's pure beauty to me and it makes me feel so grateful that I don't need a lot of things to be happy. I enjoy the simplicity of life! I'm open-hearted and love to smile, even to a stranger. I believe that it's the smallest things that enrich our lifes the most - appreciating all the beauty in every moment. Being kind, helping out when we can, being respectful and learning from each other.
I often feel locked in inside cities or buildings but I love to fall asleep under the stars and wake up with the first sunlight of the day. I don't want to be restricted by the common way of living and thinking in our modern western society and like the idea that everything could be possible as well as nothing has to be forced to happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people from all over the world is one of the best parts about travelling. Sharing my time, even a period of my life, with so many different people is extremely enriching and inspires me a lot. I love to learn about foreign cultures and languages, people's very personal approach to life, their favourite dish, their definition of happiness and whatever else they'd like to share with me.
In the last year I could make my first experiences with CS (back then I shared an account with my travel buddy Hanna, you can find the references in the pictures) and they've always been great! I was able to get to know a country in a very non-touristy way and I want to give unforgettable experiences like that back to others whenever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer a campfire over a film but if I should choose, I'd go for something based on a true story, some adventure or travel movies or maybe some history based films
music really depends on my mood, so I'm quite open to everything :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
a loooot, for sure - let's share them when we meet!
but just to name a few of them: eating hundreds of Onigiri in Japan, listening to tropical rain in the Amazon jungle, reconnecting to nature, falling in love, sailing around Greece together with wonderful people, watching ten shooting stars in one night in Sweden, working in a hospital, walking barefoot, living offline, dancing inside trains during the interrail trip, sleeping on top of a mountain, hitchhiking, my first time in the ocean and all the crazy adventures I experienced with my dad
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that we can always learn at least something from each other! I'm very curious about other people's way of life so I would also like to share mine, if you are interested. Otherwise I'm up for any new experience, recipe or song and every idea that comes up to our mind. I love to prepare a nice meal or help out wherever it's possible. I can teach languages, take care of animals or children and I like to share, no matter if it's a meal, a place to sleep or an adventure we can have together!
What I Can Share with Hosts
a lot of good vibes and happiness, having deep talks or laughing all night and exploring something new together, some funny German words, a dinner, or maybe an interesting idea - I think there are a lot of things
I'm always happy to give something back in return for a stay :)
