Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Nengda. I grew up in Junshan, a small village in central China, and moved to Germany at 27. Two years later, I started my own music agency, Morgen Musik, bringing European musicians to tour in Asia — one of my proudest moments was inviting Gilda Buttà (pianist of Ennio Morricone) and cellist Luca Pincini for several tours in China.
In 2021, I began hosting salon events for Chinese youth in Berlin to explore freedom of speech and build an open, participatory community. I’m also queer and love discussing gender issues and identity politics.
I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, sharing stories over coffee or a walk, and discovering the little things that make each place unique. Always happy to connect, learn, and make new friends along the way.
Here are some German and Chinese media features about me — feel free to take a look:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, traveling is not just about seeing beautiful landscapes — it’s about connecting with people. Through the stories of individuals I meet, I get to know the places they live in, understand their history, and reflect on myself. In this fragmented era, each encounter feels like adding another piece to the puzzle of a more complete world.

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I can teach you some basic Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), share insights about Chinese culture and history, and give you tips on traveling in China. I can also share what I know about organizing cultural events and running a music agency.
Learn:
I’m always curious about local traditions, languages, and everyday life. I’d love to learn new recipes, dance moves, or anything creative you’re passionate about.
Share:
I can share home-cooked Chinese dishes, travel stories, and my experiences as part of the Chinese diaspora in Berlin. I’m also happy to share playlists, cultural recommendations, and good conversations over coffee or a walk.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share not only my cooking and travel stories, but also my experiences as part of the Chinese diaspora in Berlin. I love deep conversations about culture, history, identity, and how young people in our community see the world and live their lives. If you’re up for it, we can exchange perspectives, cook together, explore the city, or simply enjoy a good walk and talk.
