ABOUT ME

I'm Derya, and I'm currently a student of History and English. I like volleyball, music, reading and I'm generally very open to other cultures, and also languages! And of course, I loooove travelling, my next dream destination is Colombia.
I have a Swiss passport and grew up here, but my background is varied, therefore I mostly feel international. I'm frequently in London, and I'd like to study in the UK next year, fingers crossed for my application.

I've just started here on CS and hope to make good experiences with other Couchsurfers!

I have couchsurfed before and hosted people before, although not through this website.

Interesses

I like travelling backpacker-style, making new experiences and meeting new people all around the world!

Also, I'm trying to cook-around-the-world, that is momentarily mostly Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Thai, Indian and Mexican, but I also like to discover new things all the time, so maybe you can show me a recipe from your country?? :-)

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Music: lots of band stuff, mostly Indie and Alternative

Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Goodbye Lenin, Tiger and Dragon, Pan's Labyrinth, This is England, Leon, Incendies, Hero, Made in Dagenham etc... also I'm trying to watch some classics once in a while, e.g. Hitchcock and so on, I recently watched an awesome movie called "Where Eagles Dare".

Books: I'm mostly sticking to Classics, some of my favorite writers are Orwell, Kafka, Woolf, Fitzgerald, Nabokov, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Huxley and Oscar Wilde.
Currently improving my language skills with Camus - L'étranger in original, a Spanish novel is next :-)

I've done a 3 months travel to Asia....was AWESOME!!!
Also, done the Erasmus experience in Cardiff... 90% party and 10% learning, that's what I'm talking about ;-)
