About Me
I'm passionate about traveling, learning about new cultures and meeting people from all over the world!
I was planning for my first solo trip when a friend recommended couchsurfing. Since I was interested in a life experience rather than a tourist visit, Couchsurfing is the perfect way for that! :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel I'm not really interested in joining the herds of tourist cattle. I want to see what's underneath the bridges; what kind of graffiti decorates dark alleyways; the local dive bar where a fight breaks out; a typical family dinner; an old abandoned church; a pile of rotting garbage where the town dogs pick at the scraps; the shoreline of the polluted river; an open mic night with local musicians; a tiny cafe with only locals hanging around; the hilltop overlooking the town or city; and all the places my tourist guidebook never mentions !
For me, this is what traveling is all about -- experiencing the realities and real life in a different place than home. Couchsurfing allows one to throw away the tourist manual and get to experience another Way of Life and meet great people !
