About Me

I'm an early 40s, single father of a 4 year old fantastic boy, enjoying conversations about music, art, healing, and going out for walks in the city or the countryside. Even if I live in the city and I'm happy with the rhythms and business of the city life (not that Chania is too intense of a city), I love being in nature at any moment.
My exercise of choice is cycling, swimming, walking and my 10 minute daily yoga/stretching sessions.
I have a list of around 10 dishes that I love to cook these days and they're all related to B12 and iron, so if we hang out in shared meal contexts you will most likely hear me talking about that.
I'm a part-time smoker and a social drinker, even though at times I may just skip the alcohol even in social contexts.
I love communicating through music, so if I have the time I would love to share some jam session.
At the end of a long day I like hanging out with friends before going to sleep.
Occasionally, and that mostly happens during winter, I like to stay up late, working on the old art project.
I play the lauto, the guitar, bass guitar, a bit of piano and keys and other small instruments, and I work as an art teacher in primary school.
Oh, and I love busking with my laouto and singing around the streets and old harbor of Chania.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet people, to offer travellers a place to stay and a window to see life as a local.
I'm also here to find hosts and people to hang out with during my visit to Portugal in a couple of weeks.

Interests

I definitely wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life in good health, close to people I love, making art, playing and listening to music, reading books on psychology, fixing stuff, having fun, enjoying intimacy, having deep conversations and helping creating a sense community, forming meaningful relationships, experiencing constant growth as an individual, and as a member of groups and society.
If all that happens somewhere where I can see the trees, sky and sea, experience the colors and sounds of all that and feel the breeze, that's for the best!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is all over the place. From Pitchfork's latest reviews and the likes, to world music, to traditional greek. Not a big fan of mainstream music, even though some of my taste is mainstream.
I don't watch movies, series etc.
In terms of books I'm mostly into psychology and personal growth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My son

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach things about art and art processes, traditional Greek tunes, some Greek.
I'm a keen to meet new people and learn by getting to know their approach to life and the world through their personal experience and culture.
I'm happy to share anything that I've learned through this journey called life.
