CURRENT MISSION

To inject a bit of adventure into my life. I haven't done a lot of free-wheeling travel in my life so I would like to meet some experienced travelers who can show me the ropes.

I live in Dartmouth Nova Scotia Canada (it means "the village"). Going through some big life changes and decided that I want to travel more. I may be traveling alone or with one or both of my teenage daughters.

PHILOSOPHY

Challenge yourself every day;
write a novel on napkins and throw them away;
be kind, don't criticize;
at all times nourish creativity in others;
people always have way more in common than they want to believe;
from womb to tomb and back again the journey wobbles on.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm presently selling my home so I can't host at the moment.
Whoever I couch surf with, I can offer some art or art lessons or some sort of intro to film editing, animation, visual effects, screenwriting or one of the other hundred things I've done in my career.
Wherever I stay I'm always happy to help out: cook, clean, rassle intruding bears, etc..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've only couchsurfed to San Francisco, that was many years ago now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Comic books by Gaiman, Morrison, Miller and Moore. The works of Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung and Tolkien (I actually read "The Silmarlilion"). Traditional folklore and fairytales from around the world. Artists, too many to count but here's a few: Odd Nerdrum, Z. Beksinski, Dave McKean and (more recently) Wayne Barlowe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled significantly in Europe as a child and visited the private gardens of the Vatican with my family.
I toured Israel with my father (celebrated Canadian artist Tom Forrestall) and made a film about our travels...
