About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am beginning a new direction of life, where it takes me from here is anybodies guess...

ABOUT ME

I spent a lot of my younger years traveling and seeing the world via a lot of Hostels and friends couches, (who knew...). I then spent my middle years working hard, raising kids and being in the mold, all the while longing to return to that kind of spontaneous adventuring I had given up. Now having started my life over after a divorce, and with the kids long gone on their own adventures, I am once again drawn back to my passion of seeing and meeting the world on its terms.

PHILOSOPHY

Learning again to listen with my heart to myself and others; to be appreciative and grateful to those who come into and pass through my life; and to live every moment as fully and completely as if it could be the last. Being true to myself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking to host, just share a cup of coffee or talk travel over a drink in town with some new friends for the moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The most interesting was an overnight in a church pew, along with about 20 others in a little village in Ireland. Or sneaking into a single rail car off the side of the tracks in Paris to avoid sleeping on the hard floors along with the masses, only to wake up in Cherbourg the next morning.

Interests

Travel, meeting people, snowboarding and apres ski, dancing, biking, just exploring things I never knew existed or only just heard of, Agate hunting on the Oregon coast, scuba-diving, did I mention exploring and adventuring yet...

Music, Movies, and Books

It's a wonderful life would have to be one of my list toppers... I love good thought provoking films (Benny & Joon); comedies that make me truly laugh (Planes, Trains & Automobiles), good foreign films (Krzysztof Kieslowski's Trois couleurs); Chocolat; so many really good films out there...

I listen to most anything as the mood strikes me, except hard core Rap. I typically have some 'Chill' or 'house' playing in the background of my day to day life. A good dance beat stirs my soul.

Books, so many, so little time... I have many books including The Secret, and The Four Agreements, in my stack by my bedside to read this Fall.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One morning I sat and just listened to the jungle waking up, while watching a beautiful sunrise atop a mayan ruin in Tikal. As I sat there through the morning, I watched the clouds begin to rise off the warmest part of the jungle off in the distance and then felt the wind pick up from behind as it rushed past to fill the void the clouds were making.
