About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission in life is to make and spread love around the world, to unify people with the universal language of music. I hope to meet sweet interesting people along my path that I can learn from.
ABOUT ME
I come from parents that were brought up in two different worlds and I am a living example of both. My dad is an African American brought up in the Urban terrain of Elizabeth, New Jersey and my mom is a small town white girl from Manhattan, Kansas. They met in Baltimore and from this me, my two older brothers and my younger sister were born. I am the third youngest, once they had me in the city of Plainfield, New Jersey, a year later they moved us back to Kansas to be raised in a more family friendly, open space environment. I am very thankful for this, i had plenty of space and time to run and play with my siblings/cousins and find myself within the great plains of the midwest. At the same time I was always very close to my roots and my family in New Jersey and would always jump at the chance to go back to visit family and explore the city scape of New York City and the surrounding area. Here I developed a strong love for hip hop music and culture which changed my life and musical path for ever and for better.
I was always surrounded by good records growing up from my mom and dad's collections, and was always supported and inspired by my parents to pursue my musical passion ever since i can remember. I remember when i was 5 i tried to make a kick drum pedal for my toy smurf drum set because it didn't come with one, which i thought was so ludicrous, a drum set with no kick drum pedal!? haha the pedal i created didn't work, but my parents were nice enough to get me a snare drum for christmas when i was 10. I was always making up melodies on the piano and banging on pots and pans until i got a drum set in the 6th grade, from there it went from quiet small town home to rock arena in my bedroom. I thank my parents for putting up with the racket all those years. I got into electronic production in 8th grade when me and a friend were messing around with his brothers drum machine and since have been an addict for making beats and writing songs. I spent a lot of time in Highschool with friends in my basement just songwriting and experimenting with sound. I went to college for music composition and here i met many great musicians and artists that i still collaborate with to this day. I spent 11 years in Lawrence Kansas where i went to school, played in bands and developed a great little hip hop scene with some really talented friends.
I moved to San Francisco from Lawrence in november of 2011 and am loving every second of it. Here i find great inspiration in the people, music, art and life of the city. I have a strong foundation here with many of my friends that i grew up playing with finding themselves here as well. I spend my days song writing and experimenting or just listening to music. I have a sweet little apartment with some musician friends and we play a lot of shows together and make music non stop. I hope to spread it universally through hard work and dedication and this city is the perfect platform for it, so many outlets and great people to bounce it off of. I love to travel and am passionate about photography and design as well, I hope to find a balance between all of these things and combine them all together while i'm young.
PHILOSOPHY
everyone should live freely, together in peace. if we could all see “Most people go through life recoiling from its best parts. They miss the enrichment that just a basic knowledge of the physical world can bring to the most ordinary experiences. It’s like there’s a pulsating, hidden world, governed by ancient laws and principles, underlying everything around us — from the movements of electrical charges to the motions of the planets — and most people are completely unaware of it. To me, that’s a shame.” - Dr. Carolyn Porco

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Machu Picchu! and after visiting this area me and some friends flew to Iquitos Peru and met a friend of my girlfriend at the time who was studying birthing practices in Peru. We got a months worth of rice and got on a little canoe which took us 5 hours up the river where his family lives in the jungle. On the voyage we met a woman who had 3 baby spider monkeys tucked in her cleavage, they had been abandoned and she cared for them and a slue of other orphaned animals. We lived in the families elevated hut during dry season for a week, lived off the river fishing with the family. played a lot of soccer in the jungle and ate lots of plantains. We went monkey hunting with the uncle (did no killing of monkeys) and learned about their culture in the amazon. it was the best time ever. One night we awoke to a very loud, close, growling sound, we were terrified shaking in our mosquito nets in the pitch black of night. All of a sudden there was a ruckus and it sounded like two jaguars were fighting in our hut! It was really scary and only lasted a minute. My girl was screaming bloody murder and when they ran off the dad was laughing his ass off in his hammock upstairs. He said it was only small jungle cats and they would not harm anyone (though they definitely were not small by any western standard of cat). unforgettable:)
