Research Analyst living in Weehawken who is currently also in a Masters Program in Psychology. Originally from Croatia. Love science and nutrition, and love to cook too! I live alone at the moment and i have a dog as well - 50 lb mix that is absolutely the biggest lover of people. She will snuggle up to you and love you all day long. I may be going into a PhD Psychology program over next year and love NYC! There is so much to do there, and a lot of it is free and affordable. I am very easy going, sociable, love love love having guests, love preparing food for guests, am a closet chef, grew up with a mother who was into catering and i learned a lot from her. I can teach you too if you'd like! I can talk foreign films all day long as i have seen many, and can give advice on what to do in the city!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Weehawken is incredibly convenient for going into manhattan - 3 dollars bus only 2 min walk away from my front door will get you into the city in 7 minutes! I want to offer this to people who might not be able to afford NYC prices while it will give me a chance to meet new people. Plus my dog will enjoy the company :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Le Jeux D'Enfant, The Intouchables, After the Wedding, any fun action film that is not too serious. Love Crime films and Thrillers. Have Netflix :)

Music: EVERYTHING . Depending on my mood, but everything from relaxing yoga/piano music to reggae ton. I am not big on listening to music if people are over out of respect for them, but have no problem with noise at any hour.

Books: Anything and everything by Erich Segal: Love Story, Oliver's Story, The Doctors

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went sky diving a few months back and it was incredible being so high up in the air observing the landscape and the blue water on a gorgeous day! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is interested. It is not as scary as it looks and the experience is second to none.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach Croatian to people - many of my friends ask me. I can also help with NYC plans, and advise on what is fun and free to do in NYC as well as other things that might cost some. Summer is a great time to come here because there is soooo much to do! Also, things to do in NJ are also accessible and easy to get to if visitors are interested.

What would you like to know?

I know NYC pretty well, where to go have fun, where to party, where to eat. Summer festivals etc. I also have a car so if you need a ride or something, i can always help out if need be. I am willing to cook ( i really enjoy that, it relaxes me) and am generally quiet and keep to myself if people prefer that. If they don't, i'm happy to socialize and have fun with my visitors.
