About Me
My wife and I live a few miles from downtown Austin, one of our favorite cities in the world. I work for the City and she's getting her Ph.D. in Sociology. We love traveling, being outdoors, and meeting new people. We have a great backyard where we've spent many a night drinking, smoking, and chatting. Would love to meet folks from all over through this new Couchsurfing experience!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We'd like to open up our city to folks traveling on a budget. Austin can be expensive enough without worrying about nightly sleep costs. We did Airbnb in the past, and now our rent is super cheap, so its a nice opportunity to accommodate new travellers :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Oooo. Kathleen and I both just read A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, one of our favorite new authors. I also really love Steinbeck, Marilyn Robinson... anything that makes me think a bit.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Shared bathroom, private bedroom w/ a full-sized bed, full kitchen (use anything!), bikes, transit accommodation and knowledge (we love super close to bus stops), knowledge of the local music and art scene, a chill place to kick back and be quiet away from the bustle.
