Chi sono

How's it going? I'm Nick. I'm studying earthquake engineering at Stanford and I'm looking forward to travelling around California!

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I wanted to try something new. Although hostels are great places to stay, it's not the same as having a local welcome you into their home and town. I haven't used it yet, but I'm looking forward to the first opportunity to try!

Interessi

I play music! I love playing my saxophone along to my jazz records (John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins etc). I'm also a keen sports fan (and player!). Over the years I've played football (of the Australian variety), hockey, broomball, cricket, and a whole bunch of others. I'll be sure to watch a game with you on the couch (or at the stadium!) and cheer on your favourite team.

Musica, film e libri

I'm into jazz and rock, but pretty much anything! My favourite book is The Messenger by Australian author Marcus Zusak - funny writing this on Couchsurfing as it's about the good that comes from doing nice things for strangers! And favourite film? Tough one, but I'll go with The Matrix.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Hiking the Heaphy Track in New Zealand was an awesome experience. It was tough, carrying 4 days worth of food (or in my case, more than 4 days!), but the landscape was beautiful, and the feeling of avoiding the mad inner-city Christmas rush, finishing the hike on Christmas Day, and having a big Christmas dinner after 4 days of camping food was amazing.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I'm always happy to cook. I can do curries, pasta, and a pretty decent breakfast bagel!
