Hello my name is Nicholas Huber, I am currently working as a volunteer cook and care taker in a children's home for maltreated children in San Martin province Buenos Aires.
I am originally from Austria and grew up in Vienna, but my mum is from the mountains in the Alps, where she grew up with 11 siblings. That's why I spent a lot of time with my 60 cousins and great-cousins as a child. Because my mum grew up in such a big family in a guesthouse, she had to start working in the kitchen at an early age, which later became the reason why she taught me to cook so much and it is now one of my passions. My father comes from a village near the Hungarian border and was a press photographer and a freelance artist. Even as a small child, he took me with him on his travels, for example to Morocco or Egypt. He was always drawn to places that were different, which is why we often ended up in strange corners or had to hitchhike back to the hostel. In high school I went to an art school for film, which is my second passion, I love making short films, music videos or any project that revolves around film. I love cooking, discovering new cultures and languages and of course sharing them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because the best way to really get to know the culture for me is travelling, eating different food, meeting new people and really feeling like you're in a different place. Also, I've always had the best holidays when I've visited friends, family or travelled with my parents to other cities they already knew
