About Me

I was born in Indiana, live in Brooklyn, and am currently doing research in Oslo for a few months. Back in Brooklyn I teach college courses on art history.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling from Oslo to Caen just to see an exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen on an artist I'm doing research on. It's very nerdy, but also fun. I've never used Couchsurfing before, but when I travel, I like to meet new people!

Interests

I like to travel and meet new people, and my job (sometimes) lets me do this because I do research on European art history. Other than traveling, I like looking at art and learning about history (obviously), I'm into film photography, I like to cook, and I like falafel, cheese, whiskey, and Mexican food. More than any one thing I like trying new things. It's kind of like what Baudelaire said: "le beau est toujours bizarre."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if it's amazing, but I worked in Denmark for the Danish Institute for Study abroad for a little over a year after college!

Teach, Learn, Share

I worked in a falafel and hummus restaurant preparing food several years back. I hated it, but I got to make some delicious food. I make good hummus if you ever want to make a meal together, or just go search for the world's perfect pita.

I teach college courses on art history in Brooklyn. I don't know of anyone who really needs to know about this subject, but if you desperately need to figure some stuff out about 19th century painting, I got you covered, man.

Je m'efforce constamment d'améliorer mon français.
