I am Nicholas Shore 24 years old, I go by Nick, I am from Oxnard California and I love the ocean. My hobbies include fishing, surfing, diving and skateboarding. I was fortunate enough to grow up near the beach with a solid beach community, I recently moved to Kauai and have been having a hard time finding a place to stay. I have a dog, brother and a mom and dad. Back home I’ve been a lifeguard every summer for the past 7 years and love the job, and it’s helped me meet so many great people. As much as I love the ocean I spend a fair amount of time in the Sierra mountain range out in California and find myself many weekends back home snowboarding the local resorts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel that it is a great way to meet people and that the best way to learn anything is through conversation and every time you meet someone you can always teach them a lesson and vice Versa and I believe two minds is always better than one.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music from especially out here in Kauai I’ve found myself listening to reggae much more than back home. I will always love classic rock as well as some of my favorite such as Tupac and biggie smalls.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done is travel to Indonesia and get the chance to fully experience their culture, definitely something I’d love to see again another day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach people how to surf, dive and spread some of my basic knowledge I’ve learned from the ocean. I want to learn how to live a simpler life, make music, and basic knowledge that I feel slips out from our minds on the daily. I would love to share what it’s like living in Oxnard to someone that’s not from the area, and I believe there is something so self gratifying from sharing that experience with another person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share many things but most definitely I’d love to share my two sense and then hopefully my host and I make an experience that we both benefit from, I feel that i love this island of Kauai due to its purest form of aloha and the amount I see between everyone that lives here it’s really something that’s missing on the main land.
