About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am looking for my FRY (passion) in life.

ABOUT ME

I am a nice guy who likes luke warm coffee (preferably with milk and sugar but can drink it black), milk chocolate, and medium salsa. This sounds a little boring, but I do enjoy the simple things in life. I find something I love and then stick with it. I believe that the little instances in life, like a bite of cake and sip of tea, can illuminate everything else, amen Proust.

Other than that, I like to ride my bike, play soccer, drink and go out, work, work, work, and work some more. I love cooking, being thrifty, and all Boston sports.

I am English and have traveled around Europe, mostly France, a lot. I visit England almost yearly and have studied at Paris8 in Paris. I have also been to West Africa twice and want to return. I really want to travel more around France, and to explore South East Asia.

PHILOSOPHY

I am spiritual in that I believe in a higher power. I do not attend church or subscribe to any religion but believe having faith in something larger than yourself is extremely important.

I try to live my life as morally as possible in every facet. I aspire to eat ethically, bank ethically, and live ethically. It is important to stress that I do not believe that doing these things is to get some sort of reward in an afterlife. I just think it is Right.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My roommate had signed up for couch surfing, his name is Michael Yarbrough. We have had a few couch surfers stay with us and they have all been awesome. I hope to surf myself soon, and continue to host more surfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just from the couch surfers I have met who stayed in our apartment, they have been the best. Really friendly and respectful as well as being super interesting and fun to talk to.

Interests

Travel, food, National public radio, writing, teaching, soccer, Red Sox.

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything! I especially love books, French lit. (Balzac), Brit Lit. (Jane Austen), and of course Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Collected firewood, made a fire, boiled water, and made a cup of tea on top of a huge sand dune in the Sahara.
