I just got back from a trip hitchhiking through from Greece to Bosnia, and explored Albania and Montenegro along the way. I was travelling alone but met so many people along the way--it wound up being the most social trip I've ever taken. I stayed with a truck driver's family for two days in Albania, shared a hotel room with a motorcyclist, and made friends with some guys who took me to their town, where they showed me around and took me out.

I'm work as a journalist, though I studied engineering, and love learning and problem solving. I read as much non-fiction as fiction—the history of our planet, books on math, etc. I play chess, though not very well, and shot 3D video of my sister's wedding over a decade ago.

I like meeting new people as much—or more—than I like visiting new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I work as a motorcycle journalist, and have travelled a lot for work, but am often on a tight itinerary and cooped up in hotels. On my own time, I prefer to hitchhike or ride bicycles and stay with friends or—with any luck—couchsurf. I'd rather spend time hanging out and chatting with someone rather than wandering aroudn looking at a map of a city figuring out where to go. Could be great to meet you-

I was riding a motorcycle through the New Jersey countryside on a hot summer's evening and came across a field of lightning bugs with over 150 flashes per second.
