About Me

I recently graduated from a university in America, i studied psychology as well as women and gender studies. I'm a very outgoing and adventurous person, i love to meet new people and I'll try anything at least once. I was born in a rural area of South Carolina so i have a love for the country and woods. But i spent high school and college in a fairly big city in North Carolina, so I enjoy cities too.

I love learning and adventure so i find it hard to stay still for too long, but I can definitely relax too. But I would prefer to go out and about, see the sites and meet the people. Friends are really important to me and I'll do just about anything for or with my friends.

I consider myself a bit of an environmentalist, I'm big on recycling and sustainability through moderation. I have problem with the bottled water industry and I'd love to live in a tiny home (an eco-friendly home under 400 Sq. Ft.). I also adore animals, I hope to see a lot of exotic animals on my trip as well.

Forewarning, I have a pretty corny sense of humor and i love puns. You don't have to laugh at my jokes, I'm content to amuse myself haha.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I want to backpack my way across Europe. As i said, i recently graduated college; I want to start the next chapter of my life while i have the freedom to explore. I'd like to see new countries and experience the cultures of different people. I thought couch surfing would be a good option, because I hope that some friendly locals may show me the cooler parts of their countries rather than just the typical tourist areas.
I really hope i can meet some nice people on here that will help me on my journey, I'd love to see all of your beautiful countries and meet some lovely people.

Interests

I love the outdoors, i enjoy camping and hiking; I hope to get a lot of hiking trips in while i backpack across Europe, so I'd love some good trails or hiking buddies. I'm also a bit of a nerd, I enjoy documentaries about evolution, bio-medical advances, space, etc. I also enjoy cooking and I'm really hoping I'll be able to learn a few new recipes from some of my hosts, I can't wait to cook an authentic French dish, or some pasta with Italians, or some new Spanish food. So if any of my hosts like to cook, or know some great local restaurants, please let me know.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love documentaries, especially anything about nature or space. I also like scary movies and comedies. Oh I really like science fiction movies too.
I'm not incredibly picky with my music, but i do have a fondness for 90's punk/pop music. And i must shamefully admit I usually like the mainstream top 40 music they play on the radio.
I hate to admit that i haven't read many books lately, other than all of the textbooks I've had to read for school. But I do like to read articles on-line: new technological advances, medical advances, scientific or psychological articles, and once in a while politics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving for the first time this past summer, its always been at the top of my bucket list so i was very excited to finally make it happen.
I also put myself through college, i was the first person in my family to get a college degree; I guess that's pretty neat too haha.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my culture and life experiences with my hosts, i hope to hear about plenty of amazing people and stories by staying with other members of the couch surfing community. I hope to learn from many different people one my trip across Europe, i expect this to be one of the best learning experiences in my life.

But I can teach you a plethora of random facts that won't ever be useful. For instance, a lion's roar can be heard from 5 miles away and an elephant is the only mammal that can't jump.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hmm...very good question. I can offer good conversation, corny jokes, crazy stories, and a new friendship. I hope to meet you soon!
