About Me

Hello! My name is Nick. In the spring of 2015 I quit my job, quit London, and went on a bike ride. My original intention was to eventually cycle around the world and this ambition led me through Europe, the Caucuses, and Central Asia…

The I got sidetracked and have ended up in Chengdu, teaching English for a year while I replenish my bank account in order to continue cycling by November 2016.

I only joined Couch Surfing at the beginning of my trip, so I have a bit of a hospitality deficit I need to rectify, so please get in touch if you are in town and need a roof over your head. I'd be more than happy to accommodate you.

My apartment is in the JinSha district of Chengdu (West, between the 2nd and 3rd ring roads), where there are a few bars and loads of famous hot pot restaurants. Although it only has one bedroom, there's a big lounge with a big sofa that can probably fit 2 people. The building also has lifts that can fit loaded bicycles, if that's your mode of transport.

Nearest Metro: Culture Palace (Line 4, 10 minute walk). Bus 13 stops outside my house and goes to/from TianFu Square.

I work weekday evenings and weekends but I am free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, during which I'd be happy to show you a bit of Chengdu.

One last practical thing, please get in touch at least 2-3 days before arriving if you wish to stay.
