ABOUT ME
HI! I'm Nick Lake. I just finished studying at UCBerkeley (Art and Interdisciplinary Studies (Philosophy, Art Theory/History, Psychology, etc.) and I have many interests.
Earth and its dynamic cohesion are of the highest priority for me, and I enjoy noticing the depth of the universal immersion. I want to do work that benefits the Earth community in it's entirety.
I work with a group of friends, an organization called the Earthsmith Society. An Earthsmith practices and expands the craft of community through inspired action. We work to build a pragmatic human action network, with love as its fundamental.
Recently for me this work has largely been spiritually focused. I realized recently that I have far more to learn. I am never bored.
I like to make art: sculptures and installations, tiny and huge, constructions, living spaces, seating arrangements, etc.
I believe deeply in the importance of farming/gardening and I know I will be doing more of that for a very long time. I am learning to grow trees, along with vegetable gardens,
I like to play music/sounds. Any instrument will do, but I particularly like the piano, and squawking on the trumpet.
I have a website for my art and more : www.nicklake.com
PHILOSOPHY
I'm all about it. Love and Light seem to be culturally connoted with what I'm up to. I really do strive for the good life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been living in a van, trying to innovate the light-footed lifestyle, with the Earth community in mind all the time. I'm researching sacred geometry, spiritual matters, gardening/farming and other crucial life practices for a new world of unity.
I cannot host surfers in my van, but there is room in my heart for friends!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I appreciate the co-operative living style with deep heart. Sharing a kitchen and a bathroom can be a precious gift, an its been great fun learning more and more about deep sharing
