ABOUT ME
Hi,
my name is Niels. Until recently (I graduated with my diploma in June 2010) I studied physics in Göttingen , which is a relatively small, nice student city. You may have heard about it in the context of great mathematicians (Gauss, Hilbert, Klein, Noether, etc.) and physicist (Heisenberg, Born, Franck, etc.). My next step will to start my PhD and this is will be in Mainz. I hope I can move into a big share flat, so I can also host some people from time to time. Up until now I only surfed on couches, I did not host (but I'll be tickled pink to do so). I would describe myself as a cheerful, optimistic, curious, studious, intelligent, extroverted person (with respect to the latter, so say at least my (physicist) friends).
PHILOSOPHY
The ethic of reciprocity (also know as "Golden rule") forms a great part of my moral subroutines.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Recently I am starting to live in this beautiful city, called Mainz. When I got to know it a little bit better, soon I will be able to show you around.
Unfortunately I can not offer a couch in general because I have not much time, neither a couch. Nevertheless to my couchsurfing friends I am willing to offer a place to stay in my shared flat if they come to visit me. :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Did some couchsurfing with friends in eastern Germany. Up until now didn't have (logical) or the time or money to couchsurf in a foreign country.
On my priority list for my first couch-surfing experiences in a foreign country are some Spanish-speaking countries (Perú, Chile, México, Colombia, Spain).
Interests
Besides physics I have diverse other interests, which extend to a good part into arts: I like doing acting in general (especially Improvisational theatre, see on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvisational_theatre), practice piano (still learning...), reading, movies, learning Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment I am developing a great affinity to spanish speaking music, I like Ska-P, Amaral from Spain, Mana and Molotov (contradiction!) from Mexico.
Some movies I enjoyed: "Last action hero", "Truman Show", "The constant gardener", "Machuca"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
