ABOUT ME

I am a 24 year old New Zealander who is currently traveling across North America. Over the past year I have spent time working in the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest, lead hikes in the Canadian Rockies, and am heading to BC to Plant trees for a few months. Before my trip to North America I taught English in the Republic of Georgia for year, and in 2010 I finished a degree in Political Sciences and History.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm reading Robert Kaplan's Soliders of God at the moment and really enjoying it. It's a nice change of pace from reading the Game of Thrones series and The Gentleman Bastards series that I had finished just before starting it.

I've been listening to a pretty wide range of music lately, I'm always listening to some Fat Freedy's Drop from back home, but I've also been playing Gogo Bordello, Mos Def, People Under the Stairs, Public Enemy, and the Dropkick Murphy's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a month living on the rim of the Grand Canyon.

Back-country camping in Parashant National Monument.

Visited Vardzia, a city carved into the side of a mountain.

Traveled to Mestia, a city located deep in the Caucus mountains.

Hiked through Zion National Park in Utah.
