About Me

After returning to work from an 8 month leave of absence in June 2016, I asked if I could take an education leave and was told to make a decision. The decision to retire from my career and work for just 4 months of the year, was one of the best decisions ever!!!

I am a minimalist, environmentally conscious and do what I can to protect the environment.

Even though I'm very well rounded and love adventure, experiencing something new, meeting new people, and learning new cultures, I very much enjoy solitude too. A friend once told me that I was a mystery wrapped in an enigma (I think he hit the nail on the head with his description of me).

For me, it's the people in every location that make traveling worthwhile. Volunteering and learning/experiencing new cultures really truly bring me so much joy. Simplicity is the key and when I travel and volunteer, I prefer to live as a local so I can fully be part of their daily lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since becoming a part of this community, the many people from all walks of life, who have passed through my life, have helped me see the world and intensified this incredible passion for learning new cultures and giving back some of what has been given to me along this road in life.

Depending on where I travel, I am sometimes allowed to host which (I think) is pretty darn cool :)
