About Me

Hi!

I'm an irrepressible optimist who loves meeting new people, exploring the world, learning and trying new things.

I'm the second oldest of 7 (yes SEVEN) kids and I have averaged over one international trip a year and have lived on three continents now.

Fitness enthusiast, aspiring yogi, basketball junkie and an entrepreneur, I'm disappointed that I've been to less than 10% of the worlds countries and am working on changing that. Super excited to be meeting people, learning about their lifestyles and cultures and living and dancing all over the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel that one of the most amazing and valuable things about traveling is meeting locals, learning about their lifestyle, thought processes and culture.
Staying at a hotel doesn't give you the opportunity to do this as well as staying with a local.
Plus as an avid traveler, I find that other travel enthusiasts and I get along well and I love sharing stories of different countries.
I also love showing people around New York and know that a local will always know the best places to go and things to experience in their city!

Interests

Obviously travel, reading (primarily business, inspirational, philosophy and self development books though I love fiction too), yoga, food, wine, good conversation, meeting new people, being spontaneous and having adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

Very wide range of music from jazz to pop to opera to hip hop and everything in between!

The hard thing about hard things.
Rework.
Winning without losing.
Linchpin: are you indispensable?
The happiness hypothesis

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungeed jumping off the Auckland harbor bridge, swimming with sharks in Hawaii, climbing a mountain in Canada.... who can keep it to one?!

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the most powerful thing anyone ever said to me is "their are no absolutes in life". I've tried to always remember that ever since. Realize that your opinion on something is exactly that - your opinion.
Everyone is always changing, try and make it for the better.

I am always trying to learn and grow so have read plenty of books and hopefully can share some of their wisdom with you. I love talking about ideas, politics, business and philosophy.

I have been working on startups for a couple years now so can give advice in many different areas of business.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, good company and good food (I enjoy cooking)!
