About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world and feed my wonderlust. I like photographing the places I go in 3D.

ABOUT ME

Freelance Photographer. Formerly the staff photographer of Touch Press, an iPad app publishing company. I'm in the slow process of building up a large library of 3D photos (see my website).

My other interests include economics, bicycles, and motorcycles.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm somewhere between an absurdist, agnostic, and trying not to think about the concept of "meaning."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I've just started. I hope to find places to stay in smaller places that don't have hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: War & Peace, The Wealth of Nations, The Rational Optimist, Stranger in a Strange Land. I read and enjoy many collected-summeries-of-research-and-a-conclusion type books.

Music: Classical, rock, folk. Generally as long as it's done with quality I enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took most of the photos for a coffee table book that's now been published in around 20 languages ("The Elements" by Theodore Gray).

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about photography, especially 3D photography (to the extent I've built my own rig). I'm happy to teach people about it.

I've spent most of the last 7 years working for a mad scientist (mostly photographing things for him), so I have lots of stories from that. Like the challenges of photographing a sodium explosion, the time I was sent to Oak Ridge, Tn to photograph radioactive artifacts, or photographing one of the world's largest private collections of animal skulls in Coventry, UK.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
