About Me

Back on Couchsurfing after 7 or 8 years.

Part nostalgia.
Part curiosity.
A quiet “what did this place become?”
Aren’t we all a little like that?

I’m still traveling more than I probably should. If this year goes as planned, I’ll hit around 400 flights. Though to be fair, I’m not sure most of what I do qualifies as “travel” anymore — airports and cities blur when work becomes movement.

104 countries in.
And somehow still amazed.

Lately, I’ve been catching myself revisiting places I’ve already seen — this time through new eyes — showing them to my partner and kids. But I’m also aware that comfort is sneaky. There’s too much world left to keep circling the familiar.

Former travel writer.
Now an experiential designer.

I design and build large-scale art experiences for cities around the world — the kind that stop passersby in their tracks and turn strangers into participants. My work lives somewhere between art, play, and community. I try to create moments that make adults feel like it’s a snow day again.

I’m still deeply curious. Still easily impressed by a skyline, a conversation, a hidden café, a story I’ve never heard before.

If I’m staying with you, expect someone who genuinely wants to understand your city — not just photograph it. I value real exchanges over checklists.

There’s too much to see, too much to feel, and too many good conversations waiting to happen.

Let’s trade perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Still traveling full time. Might be able to host once in a while in Knysna, South Africa.

Interests

Have you ever felt like you’re interested in too many things to do the same job and live the same life for 40 years?

That’s kind of where I’ve always been.

Curious to a fault. Restless in a good way. Easily fascinated. I’ve never been great at staying in one lane — there’s just too much to explore, learn, build, try.

But at the core, I’m actually pretty simple.

I love music that makes a room feel alive.
I love traveling — not just moving, but discovering.
I love sports, the energy of a crowd, the discipline behind it.
I love a good pint and conversations that last longer than expected.
And I love having good people around — the kind you can talk seriously with or laugh at absolutely nothing.

I don’t need luxury. I don’t need complicated. I just like real moments and real energy.

Still curious. Still amazed by the world.
Still not ready to do the same thing for 40 years.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up on 90s music — the kind you still know every word to without trying.

Lately, I’ve been deep into new country. Something about the storytelling, the honesty, the road-trip feeling of it just hits right.

But honestly, I just love music.

Techno when the night needs energy.
Early 2000s hip hop when nostalgia kicks in.
Live acoustic when the room gets quiet.
Random playlists recommended by people I just met.

Music is usually playing somewhere around me — in airports, at work, on long drives, or in the background of good conversations.

I’m not loyal to one genre. I’m loyal to how it makes a moment feel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve been lucky enough to travel for 19+ years, visited 104 countries, and even run with the Olympic flame twice.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lucky to be traveling the world with my wife and two sons. There’s so much to see, and so much for them to be amazed by.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Egypt, England, Ireland, Mexico, South Africa, United States
