About Me

ABOUT ME

Well, I've described on my profile, but above all I'm a relaxed guy who likes to see new places

PHILOSOPHY

first of all some latin, so i look cultivated (what latin i studied at school is long forgotten)

dulce bellum inexpertis
War is sweet to those who have never fought

castigat ridendo mores
One corrects customs by laughing at them

in the past i have wasted time and opportunities, and I'd really like to avoid making that mistake again...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When it's not exam period i can host interesting people.

Note, there are some periods where I receive really a lot of requests, so I might simply answer "NO" without writing a message. Please understand it's simply to save time, with no ill intentions behind.

Interests

i like team sports, biking, trekking, skiing, table tennis and table football, 5aside fotball and many more (I suck at most of them, though)

I used to practice karate, kung fu and some tai chi, then had some knee problems, mostly due to kung fu..chinese martial arts are for show-offs, right?

i like music movies and books (who doesn't?)
travelling. doh

various nerdy games

various cooooool games (not really)

i was once very fond of sailing, but then i had to stop and forgotten everything about it, would love to do it again if someone here has a boat...

history, art--->history of art--->museums--->DINOSAURS!! (ah, to be a dreaming kid again)

drunkdancing (that a word?)

drunksinging

Theatre

Music, Movies, and Books

weeeeeellll, lets see

i love movies.
I grew up watching all the intellectual and deep movies my parents liked so much, but as soon as i hit adolescency i developed a distinct taste for more....daring cinema (teen movies horror gore action thriller documentary fantasy scifi...).
Some directors I like:
scorsese, burton, de palma, gondry, kubrik, sorrentino, landis, the monthy piton guys, zucker, chaplin, hitchcok, mel brooks, forman, truffaut (still missing half his movies though), almodovar, wilder, allen, lynch, bertolucci.

i enjoy tv series, some american ones and some french ones like H.

I love reading, especially huge, beautifully intoxicating novels.
I spent my 12th year of life lost in the wonderful universe of the lord of the rings but then lost interest in fantasy until i discovered a song of ice and fire.

Yes, I have read harry potter and i'm not ashamed of it (well... not really).

I still have some huge holes in my scifi culture (no philip dick yet). Just started my first bukowsky, seems great so far.

I like comics (ok, some of the followings are mangas): miura, evangelion, bilal, moore, moebius, half marvel and dc (the good half), pratt, toppi, recchioni bartoli, bonvi, DYD, john doe, Miller, Adams.

Music:

I love beatles but i'm beginning to think i might prefer stones after all...

Dylan Dylan Dylan, what can i say about Dylan? so great.

De andre might be on par with him, though.

I think there will never be a trio as amazing as Police, nor a duo as good
Simon&G, nor a one man band better than weird al yankovic.

I enjoy folk and traditional music and have a SEVERE addiction to Irish music.

I'm listening to brassens and brel to improve my french.

I have a pretty good knowledge of 'junk' music, the one nobody listens but everybody knows.

I like musicals like jesus christ, the lion king, rocky horror, phantom of the opera, the producers, doctor horrible's, rent.

I have just discovered classical music (hey, you should've told me that stuff is good!!)

italian singers like de gregory, Guccini, vecchioni, caparezza

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Grand Canyon, the desert, sunrise on a boat, the lion king at Broadway.

I've met some nigerian princesses, some old style mafia guys, some sad poets.

I spent a couple of days alone in Galileo's villa.

I met some pretty great people, and i don't mean the mafia guys.

Teach, Learn, Share

math and physics, i guess

I'll offer you a beer if you can beat me 3 out of 5 at table football

I can help you with your italian

would love to practice my french or learn spanish.
Also, huge props if you can show me some yoga.
