About Me

I'm Nicola. I am 51 years old. I have three children (Matteo 21, Sofia 17 and Maddalena 15) and I am separated.
I have lived alone in San Giovanni Valdarno for 15 years. Previously I lived in Rome for almost 10 years. As a child I lived in Turin and then from the age of 10 to 25 I lived in Salerno.
I'm a math teacher and I like it. I love sport, SUP and cycling in particular and I am a Salernitana fan (so I could say that I also like football). I love rock music and reading. Generally I like all art and I don't disdain beer and wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's great to meet new people. Relationships can make people better. The more you know, the richer you are. And then I like to travel, I love cycle touring, I really like going uphill and when I'm so tired, I promise myself never to get on a bicycle again. Then comes the descent and you are the most peaceful man in the world. This is why I decided to choose Couchsurfing, because I like being the most serene man in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music, rock music in particular. Today my favorite band is Depeche Mode, first there was the Rolling Stones, then the Clash. Who knows tomorrow? I like the mountains, the forest, the lake and the sea. Nature is fantastic. I like art. I like reading. Right now I'm reading "Ufo 78" by Wu Ming. I like doing things with friends, even just talking or walking. When it comes to films, it's difficult to choose which is my favourite. Nolan's films drive me crazy, literally. I really liked "The Big Lebowski". But also those of Eastwood (as director) and Loach, so far away and yet so close. Last night I saw "L'armata Brancaleone" by Mario Monicelli

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three children

Teach, Learn, Share

It is not possible to teach anything, you can only give a good example, I try to do it every day since I have 3 children and 100 students.
It is possible to learn, but it takes desire and a bit of intelligence.
Sharing is left-wing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would like to offer friendship.
