About Me

Currently on my second gap year!

I love travelling - I did my first big overseas trip to Vietnam and Cambodia in 2011, and then after I finished college I spent four months travelling in Europe with friends. I learnt heaps, and had so many great experiences. Now that I have finished my uni degree I am back to Europe again! This time I am travelling with my boyfriend and planning on seeing heaps of places that I didn't have time to last time.

I'm easy to get along with and my friends know me as the person who is always talking!
At home I work as a barista in a couple of lovely cafes, but now that I am finished uni I plan on looking for a job in business or HR.
While I was studying I always made sure to book in a few holidays each year, even if only for a weekend, as I love getting away, eating some good food and seeing some incredible sights.
I love activities like skiing, hiking, snorkelling, kayaking, and being outdoors in general.
I'm a huge foodie and I love trying new foods while travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Last time I was in Europe I had some awesome experiences with couchsurfing - my friends and I were able to see places that we would never have been able to or had known about, and see things from a locals perspective. We have been lucky enough to be cooked local cuisine (an amazing experience), shown the best bars and night life, and also given tips on how to best see the sights. Hopefully in return we provided a lot of fun for our hosts!

I have couchsurfed in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Naples, Rome, Florence, Venice, La Spezia, and Pisa - and loved it!
When we travelled last time my friend I was travelling with used her couch surfing account to book, so you can find my references on her profile :) https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/clarechoveaux

I look forward to doing lots more couchsurfing on this trip back to Europe, and to meeting some more amazing people and seeing their lifestyles!

Interests

I love travelling and exploring new places. I also love eating out - especially brunch - and cooking as well. I am interested in photography and am hoping to get more into it on this trip.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have snorkelled in the great barrier reef. I have also hiked through the french and Italian Alps, which was incredible.

I think that travelling and meeting new people is such an amazing opportunity to learn about other peoples' cultures and lifestyles.
