Hi! My name is Nicolai. I am 24 years old. I am from Dortmund, Germany.

To get a better impression of me, I will give you a short overview about who I am and what I regularly do in my free time:

- First of all, I'm trying to use each day to learn new things: it could be going to the gym and try some new exercices or also going to the library and find another book which catches my attention. Being open-minded is crucial for me.

- I regularly go out into the nature to "clear my mind" and to find harmony. Hiking and mountainbiking are my fav. sports besides the gym. I prefer being outside.
Nevertheless, I also like to go out to a big city for a citytour or for having a party.

- Being independent (e.g. economically) is also important for me. I left my parents house when I was 18 yo. I rent my own apartment at that age and started to work.

- What I don't like are prejudices, unrespectful and selfish habits. And I dont like fast food.

I'm convinced that travelling is one of the best methods to learn & understand how around the world people live and work. Of course, in today's world the internet offers many possibilities about finding out how they do, but travelling gives us a first-hand impression.

I hope we can spend a good time together.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

The reason for joining CouchSurfing in 2014 was that I really like the philosophy of how it all works. Finding a Couch for a night (and also offering a couch to other people) makes traveling much more easier and cheaper for all of us.

In my opinion, CouchSurfing is a good alternative to expensive hotels and a possibility to make friends whereever you want to go.

兴趣

In my free time I regularly go out for hiking: whether alone or with other people, hiking is one of my favourite activities since a few months. The reason for this is that - while hiking - I am able to calm down, forget a stressful day of work and finding tranquility in the nature.

Furthermore, I am also learning new languages like English and Spanish. I started learning both languages back in school and I realized that it is a "hobby" for me to learn and teach languages.

Other interests are mountainbiking, travelling and personal development (which means to develop your own personality)

In July 2014, I visited my spanish guest familiy in Valencia. It was an amazing experience and since then, I decided that one day I am going to travel the whole world (mhh, at least south america).
