About Me

Hi! I’m Nicolás, originally from Ecuador, and a proud Fulbright grantee. I had the incredible opportunity to live in the USA for three years through this program, which gave me not only an almost native level of English but also a deep appreciation for cultural exchange and learning from people around the world.

When I’m not working in business development in the medical field, you’ll find me outdoors. I’m passionate about running and adventure sports—I’m a trail runner, which means I regularly take part in ultramarathons and races over 42 km. Pushing my limits in nature is one of my favorite ways to experience the world.

I’m an easygoing and respectful guest who values kindness, connection, and cultural exchange. Couchsurfing, for me, is not just about traveling but about building friendships and sharing authentic experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I’m traveling to Europe to run my first 100 km race in the Pyrenees! A good friend recommended Couchsurfing as a great way to meet people and travel more authentically.

I’m visiting Europe with my girlfriend, who is also an ultra-runner, and we’re excited to explore new places, cultures, and communities together. Since I just joined Couchsurfing, I haven’t had the chance to host anyone yet, but after this trip, I’d be happy to welcome travelers to my home in Ecuador!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I’ve done is earning a Fulbright scholarship to study and live in the United States for three years. It was a life-changing experience that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally while connecting with people from all over the world.

Another highlight is pushing my limits as a trail runner. I’ve completed 50 km and 80 km ultramarathons, and now I’m preparing for my longest race yet—100 km in the Pyrenees. It’s both exciting and humbling to chase big goals like this!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can share insights about Ecuador, its culture, and its amazing landscapes. I’d also be happy to talk about my experience as a Fulbright scholar, life in the U.S., and the medical industry in Latin America. For those into sports, I can share training tips and stories from my ultramarathon and trail running journey.

Learn:
I’m eager to learn about other cultures, languages, and local traditions wherever I go. I’d also love to pick up new running routes, outdoor skills, and any tips for living a more adventurous, balanced life.

Share:
I enjoy meaningful conversations, sharing travel stories, and swapping cultural experiences. I’d be glad to help around the house, cook a simple Ecuadorian dish, or provide advice if you ever plan to visit South America. Above all, I bring respect, curiosity, and a positive attitude everywhere I go.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to share a bit of Ecuadorian culture, stories from my travels, and my experience as a Fulbright grantee. I’m also passionate about trail running and adventure sports, so I’m always up for swapping training tips or outdoor experiences!

I can help out around the house, cook a simple Ecuadorian meal, and share recommendations if you ever plan to visit Ecuador or South America. Most of all, I bring a positive attitude, respect for your space, and genuine curiosity to learn from every person I meet.
