关于我
I was born weighing a little more than 1kg or, more
precisely, 1.330kg. However, I knew I could not wait any
longer because there was a lot for me to do out here. So
in the end I stayed in my mother's belly for only 6 and a
half months.
In a nutshell, this "hurry" of mine ended up in me having
to stay more than a month in the ICU and in developing
cerebral palsy, which impaired the motor coordination of
my legs. After countless sessions of physical therapy,
surgeries and a bunch of other things, today I only use
crutches.
It would be quite hypocritical of me to say that it is easy to
live with my condition. Yet, I have learned to accept a
more positive view on things over the past 20+ years.
Being different is not easy, but it is certainly a huge
privilege. It allows you to see things in a unique way and
might even open your eyes for things others rarely see.
From an early age, I have learned to fall. That also made
me learn how to get back up. All of this has taught me to
enjoy and cherish the simplest of achievements, such as
being able to tie my sneakers myself or to wear flip-flops
after so many years of waiting.
In the face of all this, I have always asked myself: what is
the point of having superpowers and not using them to
change and improve things around you?
It is not often that you can expect change without guiding
others. After all, teaching is the duty of those who know!
And I think it would be very selfish of me not to share all
the lessons I've learned over the years.
In my opinion, everyone is different. Efficient, however,
are only those who are able to laugh at themselves, learn
valuable lessons and share them with others – no matter
how hard and unfavorable their situation might be.
Wherever regular people see bugs, they see features!
