About Me

I am a musician, guitar and violin. I study anthropology, so I like staying to get to know how local culture works. I don't very much like touristy activities like tours, and I do like museums and beaches (I try not to use the word "but").

I love learning. I like learning new ways of communicating, and I like travel for the instant and deep connections you make with a stranger.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am just finishing up research in Malta about migration. I have never traveled Europe before, and I really don't like the idea of hotels where I can go in and leave and never meet anyone. I want to get to know the way people live around where I travel because I think somewhere deep down I'm searching for a new way of life. For now, I look forward to cultural exchange and the opportunity to learn from people who know the area better than I.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made some sweet potato pies for Thanksgiving at the local homeless shelter in Santa Monica. As I was taking my pie around offering slices, a man took a bite and almost cried because it reminded him so much of the pie his mother used to make because so few people make sweet potato pie in the first place.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I play violin, and back home I teach guitar and music. I bring my musical aptitude.
I can cook Mexican food! (Everybody loves Mexican food!)
I love language and culture exchange, so I'd love to figure that out.
